CourseFlow: Supporting Program Revision and Pedagogical Design

May 06, 2022 | 1:00 - 2:15 PM Virtual

CourseFlow is a free tool developed by the SALTISE team to support and communicate the process of pedagogical design on three levels: (1) program, (2) course and (3) lesson. This webinar will describe and demonstrate CourseFlow, highlighting how it can help visualize curricular and pedagogical elements as well as improve the alignment of competencies, learning outcomes, and student assessments. As a unique online platform, it produces annotated and dynamic workflows that allow teachers and pedagogical councillors to communicate the complex concepts associated with program revision and the implementation of the “program approach.” The workflows produced are themselves tools that make lesson and course planning more visible, facilitating working together more seamlessly, and allowing members of curriculum committees (particularly multi-section courses) to “see” each other’s activities and course components. The SALTISE team has built this tool iteratively to address the challenge of supporting sustainable change to teaching practice.

Estimated duration: 75 minutes with the possibility of extending the discussions at the end
