The Challenge of Assessment in Maker Education and Design-Based Learning in Formal Education

I have recently shifted my focus of research from vision sciences to education. After conducting research in the area of low vision for a number of years, I discovered that one of the most predictive factors in coping well with vision loss is education. Thus, I decided that I wanted to come straight to the source and study education itself. I have spent the past 3 years acquainting myself with the field of education, and so I hope to now start contributing to the field with my own research.
