Overview
In this peer-instruction case study, students will learn about enzymology and the difference between competitive and non-competitive inhibitors.
Students take the role of an enzymologist and are given a dataset with enzyme activity. They are then tasked to identify the type of inhibitor acting on the enzyme by analyzing the data. This case study uses the flipped classroom strategy in which students will prepare for the task by watching videos, reading and performing a quiz before entering the classroom. Assigned videos to watch: Enzymes, Enzyme regulation. In the classroom, students are asked to produce two enzymatic activity assay graphs as well as answer multiple choice questions to strengthen their understanding of enzymes.

- Students will be able to explain how enzymes are regulated
- Using data, students will be able to identify how the type of inhibitor affects enzymes
- Students will be able to plot a graph using Enzyme Activity Data
